On-Air News Producer
Eyewitness News (WEHT/WTVW) serving the Evansville, Indiana, DMA (Market 109) is looking for an on-air producer. This position will be available in January of 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce and stack the newscasts with a strong editorial voice and visual storytelling.
• Re-write and update scripts
• Proofread material from others
• Collaborate with the news director, anchors, reporters, photographers, and assignment editors to develop engaging content.
• Write and edit scripts with clarity, accuracy, and urgency.
• Respond to breaking news and adjust rundowns as needed.
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute story ideas.
• Coordinate with other stations to add regional content to newscasts
• Produce special projects as needed.
• Post material to station’s digital properties.
• Make calls to gather information and set up interviews with newsmakers
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Strong news judgment and understanding of local, national, and international current events.
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with general newsroom equipment and terminology
• Ability to work under pressure of a live newscast and to meet tight deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.
