Submissions for the 2024 Spectrum Awards will be opening this coming Tuesday, June 25, 2024. This year the Indiana Broadcasters Association has made some minor modifications to both the entry process and the categories. This change will make the submission process much smoother for both the stations and the judges that will be reviewing submissions.

Requirements for Submissions (On the “Rock Our Awards” Platform)
- Each category is now limited to a maximum of 3 submissions. If you go over this maximum a member of our team will reach out to eliminate additional entries. We want your best 3 submissions.
- Please ensure that any links you provide do work and are downloadable. If the judges are unable to access a link, this will automatically disqualify your entry.
- Stations must provide a current updated version of their station logo.

In Radio Market 1&2
- Best “Pro-Radio” Industry Imaging Award: Entries effectively promote and highlight the power of radio as a valuable and impactful marketing medium. Entries should showcase the unique “pro-radio” advantages and strengths of radio advertising, emphasizing its ability to reach and engage audiences in a meaningful and effective way. This accolade recognizes the outstanding efforts of radio stations in reinforcing the vital role of radio as a potent tool for driving marketing success and connecting businesses with their target audiences. (Submission should be no more than 5 minutes in length.)
- Best Local Sports Play-by-Play Coverage: Best locally originated play-by-play coverage of high school sports broadcast. (Submission should be no more than 3 minutes in length.)

In TV Market 1&2
- Best “Pro-Television” Industry Imaging Award: Entries celebrate a television station that embodies the values of promoting television as a powerful and effective marketing medium. This award recognizes the station’s commitment to crafting original and impactful “pro-TV” messages that highlight the unique advantages of television advertising. The recipient of this award demonstrates a dedication to advancing the industry and advocating for the continued relevance and success of television as a crucial platform for marketing and communication. (Submission should be no more than 5 minutes in length.)
- Multimedia Journalist of the Year: Recognizes the hard work of an individual who produces much of his or her own work. A compilation clip of 3-5 events showing applicant’s best work should be submitted. Criteria include creativity, continuity, and technical production. Entries should not be the work of the station’s investigative journalism unit. (Submission should be no more than 5 minutes in length.)

Updates to Submission Process
- To begin stations should select what categories they plan on making submissions for. This should look familiar and is identical to last year. (You can select multiple categories.)
- Once you have selected your category your may enter how many entries in a given category you would like to enter.
- Submission boxes will appear for each individual entry. This year we are asking stations to provide both the call letters of the station where the content is from, as well as the name of their submission. The submission name must match what is being submitted on Rock Our Awards.

The submission period is now open and will close July 31, 2024 at 11:59pm. The Spectrum Awards will be hosted on October 15, 2024 at “The Cabaret” in Indianapolis. So don’t forget to mark your calendar. We look forward to receiving your submissions!
